The Marie Boat Stage

Marie is a Scottish ex-herring trawler based on the east coast of the UK. In the last couple of years she has found her new vocation as a boat stage for maritime/music festivals!

Through a not-for-profit organisation called Sea Folk Arts, Marie travels to different ports, providing her boat stage as a platform to support and promote performing artists in coastal areas. Sea Folk Arts aims to connect coastal performing arts communities, celebrating maritime heritage and showcasing work in multiple maritime venues, thereby building a wider audience.

Marie has been used as a boat stage at Ipswich Maritime Festivals 2016, 2017, Hull Folk and Maritime Festival (City of Culture) 2017, and travelled to Brest Maritime International Festival 2016, Festival du Chant Maritime Bretagne at Paimpol 2017. She will be back in Hull, Ipswich and the Woodbridge Beowulf Festival in 2018, as well as other locations on the south coast.

The stage is approximately 4m x 3.5m, 1.5m above the deck, built from scaffolding we can also provide PA, lighting, sound engineer, bands/performers, performers green room and fun! Contact us at the link above.
